Bore water comes from groundwater which in turn comes from rain that has naturally seeped into the ground and is stored in spaces between soil and rocks. The layers and bodies of water in these underground spaces are known as aquifers. Groundwater is brought to the surface using a bore (well), or a network of bores.
The term drilling of bore wells simply means that the ground is dug and drilled into a hole to extract waters that can found at the underground level.
Borewells are a major source of household potable water in India; after the agricultural revolution, borewell usage has significantly increased for irrigational purposes. Depending on the level of the local aquifer, quality of soil-rock and usage pattern, the functional longevity of a borewell varies.
Borewell drilling, otherwise referred to as borehole drill, is a method in which the shaft is inserted into the drilled hole as necessary. Borewell's drilling cost is a major component of the whole operation which relies on multiple variables.
